Name: Louise Scott
Louise has been working in the tourism and hospitality industry since an early age, her first role working at the Gleneagles Hotel in Scotland whilst still at secondary school.
Having been fascinated by the industry, Louise pursued an honours degree in Hospitality Management at the Robert Gordon University whilst continuing to work part-time in the sector.
Louise has since worked in multiple entities during her career including hotels, restaurants and bars, the university sector and in local and state governments building experience and knowledge through each opportunity. Louise chaired the Scottish Local Government Economic Development Tourism Forum.
She immigrated to Australia in 2011 after holding senior roles promoting Aberdeen, Scotland as a destination on the international stage. These experiences led to a love and passion for travel and tourism that still prevails.
Louise holds a Masters of Business Administration from The University of Western Australia and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. She has held volunteer board roles in the Culture and Arts sector and has a passion for music and dance.
Since moving to Australia Louise has held a number of senior roles in tourism, destination marketing and events at the City of Perth, Tourism Western Australia and is currently Director Tourism and Events at the City of Melbourne.
Louise is also a past tourism award winner having led multiple applications that have resulted in one State gold, four State silver and two State bronze awards in WA.
Louise is a passionate advocate for destination marketing, enhancing the visitor experience and recognising the value of events in driving visitation and city reputation.
