Name: Andrew Gooday
Andrew has twenty years’ experience in operations, marketing and commercial roles in the tourism and recreation industries. This includes six years with the National Trust of Australia (Victoria) where he led the award winning team at the Old Melbourne Gaol, Crime and Justice Experience. Andrew also project managed the re-launch of Polly Woodside – Melbourne’s Tall Ship Story, including the design construction of a completely new museum. In this role Andrew gained significant experience with state and national tourism awards achieving two Australian Tourism Awards, three Victorian Tourism Awards, achieving Hall of Fame status in 2010, winning Interpretation Australia’s top award in 2009 and a successful T-QUAL grant application.
Working in local government as the Recreation Coordinator for the City of Maribyrnong, Andrew was responsible for the management of high profile visitor and community projects, creating a Recreation Strategy for the municipality, implementing Master Plans for major Council reserves and writing successful grant applications.
Andrew is passionate about providing outstanding visitor experiences and how this can be at the heart of successful and sustainable businesses. As well as providing a broad range of tourism services in his own consultancy firm, Andrew Gooday Tourism Services, Andrew is currently working with The Loyalty Zone, whose aim is improve clients’ profitability through improvements in their customer experience.
Andrew holds an Honours degree in Earth Sciences and a Masters degree in Tourism Management.
