Deputy Executive Director, Geelong Otway Tourism (GOT)

Terry Hickey is a tourism professional with a background in hospitality and international marketing, as well as being the owner of a dual Victorian Tourism Award winning accommodation business.

Terry is the Deputy Executive Director of Geelong Otway Tourism, and is responsible for all research and data collection, as well as the marketing and promotional activity for the GOT region.  In this role he also acts as the manager and principal industry contact for marketing and professional development for the Great Ocean Walk. 

Prior to joining GOT, Terry completed a two year contract in the Yarra Valley where he was responsible for developing all domestic campaigns.

Along his tourism journey has participated at all levels of the industry, as a successful business owner of Kirkside Cottages, (Winner of the Victorian Tourism Award for Hosted Accommodation up to 5 stars in 2001 and 2002).  Is a member of campaign committees in three regions, including chairman of Melbourne and Surrounds Marketing and chair of Macedon Ranges and Spa Country marketing committee.  Terry has been a contributor to many state based initiatives and is currently a member of the Tourism Excellence steering committee and is one of the group delivering the Nature Based Tourism strategy.
