Barbara operates her own consultancy - In Any Event Management - which recently included a short-term contract as General Manager for the 2010 Melbourne International Jazz Festival.  A highly acclaimed event, it was recently nominated for a national Helpmann Award for Best Contemporary Music Festival.  She is well known for her long time role as Festival Director of the Queenscliff Music Festival.  She is passionate about the tourism industry's ability to provide the economic and cultural infrastructure essential for Victoria's development.

The Queenscliff Music Festival won Most Significant Festival and Event at the national level and was selected for the Tourism Victoria Hall of Fame. Barbara wrote all the submissions for these awards and drove the research that underpinned the Festival's business development. With a broad ranging skill set, Barbara has a BA Hons, teaching qualifications, MBA studies as well as post graduate certificates in Multicultural Studies, Drama as well as Movement and Dance.  She is one who believes enhanced tourism experiences give visitors a sense that the communities embedded in the places they visit – and re-visit - are part and parcel of the destination.

Barbara is a previous judge of the Victorian Tourism Awards.
