Mentor Program

Recognising that Victoria has a number of industry leaders, the Victorian Tourism Awards Unit has enlisted the support of former Judges and Hall of Fame winners to continue the successful Mentor Program. This group of experienced people is willing to volunteer their time and expertise to assist operators with advice and guidance about preparing a quality Tourism Awards online submission.

The Mentor Program is available to all businesses (first time and experienced businesses) who are entering the business categories.

New for 2013 - Award Submission Assessment Opportunity exclusive to Mentor Program Participants

VTIC and Tourism Victoria are pleased to announce an exciting initiative for its RACV Victorian Tourism Awards Mentor Program with an award assessment opportunity open to all participants in the Mentor Program. Tourism Victoria is fully subsidising this initiative where an experienced State/National Judge from outside of Victoria will review your full draft submission and provide feedback as you would expect from the usual Awards judging process.

As the “mock judge” is from another State, it is likely they will have no prior knowledge of your business which will enhance your submission development, complementing your Mentor’s insights.

This opportunity is open across all categories (except individual Awards). There is no fee, however, a full submission (no partially completed submissions will be accepted) must be provided by Friday 12 July to participate.

So how does it work?

Step 1 - Register your expression of interest by Friday 31 May 2013. This is as simple as emailing This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it  so that we know you are intending to participate.

Step 2 - Have your submission completed by Friday 12 July, and email it to me by 12pm. If the file is too large to email, use a file sharing site like yousendit.com.

Step 3 - The “Judge” will review your submission, providing brief feedback and suggestions for improvement as you would expect from the Awards judging process.

Step 4 - The feedback will be emailed to you by 5pm Friday 26 July which gives you nearly two weeks to incorporate changes and discuss with your Mentor.

Places are limited so register your interest early.

If you have not yet registered for the Mentor Program, please return the mentor application form below at your earliest convenience.
