Name: Wendy Jones
Wendy has worked with executive teams and boards across the tourism industry, the environment sector and community. She stepped down from her role as Executive Officer of Goulburn River Valley Tourism in mid-2017, a position she held since July 2013.
Previously she was a founding director of its board for three years and remains passionate about importance of the visitor economy to regional Victoria. She is currently a Board Director of William Angliss Institute, the specialist centre for foods, hospitality, tourism and events training and education.
Wendy’s tourism and hospitality experience varies from owner-operator of her own country hotel to industry association management in both Victoria and the Northern Territory. Her roles have included CEO of the Restaurant & Catering Association of Victoria, where she served on numerous tourism hospitality boards and committees and CEO of Keep Australia Beautiful Victoria.
Wendy has also spent nearly ten years living in Darwin where she headed up the Northern Territory Tourism Industry Training Council before returning to live in regional Victoria. She is proud to have taken Tourism Training NT to two Brolga Awards for Excellence – the Northern Territory tourism award equivalent.
Wendy holds a Master of Business (Human Resource Management) Charles Sturt University and a Bachelor of Arts University of Melbourne. She is also a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
