Tourism Marketing Consultant

David is currently employed on a consultancy basis for two days a week as the Manager, International Sales for the Emerald Tourist Railway Board, operators of the world famous Puffing Billy Railway allowing him time to pursue more tourism projects outside the railway.  For the preceding nineteen years David was employed as the full time Marketing Manager for the railway.

David is a Foundation Member of the Melbourne Attractions Promotions Group, a past President of the Victorian Tourism Operators Association, past Chairman of the Yarra Valley and Dandenong Ranges Tourism Board and past Chairman of Dandenong Ranges Tourism Inc. David is currently a Board member of Tourism Alliance Victoria and Committee Member of the Dandenong Ranges Gardens Advisory Board and for a number of years was a judge and is currently a mentor for the Victorian Tourism Awards. He has lectured on tourism subjects at Victoria University and worked closely with many tourism students with their course placements at Puffing Billy.

David also has wide experience in the advertising industry through previous employment with two large advertising agencies in Melbourne and in the hospitality industry through previous employment with Rob's Restaurants and McDonalds Australia. David is a Vietnam Veteran and is currently the Senior Vice President of the Upwey/Belgrave RSL sub-branch.

David is a previous judge and mentor of the Victorian Tourism Awards.
