Name: Carly Dixon
Carly is a member of the Melbourne Airport executive team which is managing the biggest transformation of the airport since it first opened in 1970. This includes significant investment in airside and landside infrastructure and includes a new domestic terminal which opened during 2015. The airport also has a strong focus on improving customer experience which will create a sense of welcome to Melbourne and Victoria for the growing number of domestic and international visitors who travel through the airport each year.
Carly joined Melbourne Airport in 2007, and manages the airport’s reputation through its government, industry, media and community relationships and external communications. This includes a strong focus on positioning Melbourne as Australia’s premier aviation gateway and an economic infrastructure asset of national significance. Prior to joining Melbourne Airport, Carly was a policy and media adviser to Federal Cabinet ministers in Canberra, and also worked in advisory roles in Victorian politics.
She brings a strong understanding of the state and federal political environment and well-developed relationships across all levels of government. In her current role, Carly has worked closely with government departments and regulatory bodies to shape the policy and regulatory environment for airports nationally while pursuing matters related to Melbourne Airport’s operations and development. This has included approvals for major development projects at the airport, ground transport, and commercial activities through to policy on international aviation services and the role of airports in tourism facilitation, as well as guiding the airport’s community engagement activities.
