Grampians Tourism Board Inc was formed at the beginning of 2009. Its structure reflects Tourism Victoria’s new regional tourism model with responsibilities encompassing the five shires of Horsham Rural City, Southern Grampians Shire, Northern Grampians Shire, Ararat Rural City and the Pyrenees Shire. The agency has marketing responsibilities, as well as industry, product and infrastructure development and the task of attracting new investment. GT actively works with 650 tourism businesses, mostly in the region but with a growing reach out into a source markets in Adelaide and Melbourne. Key selling points remain nature-based holiday experiences, appealing to a traditional domestic family market, with an emerging winery following and with recent rains, a return to recreational fishing and boating!
