The Central Gippsland Institute of Tertiary and Further Education (GippsTAFE) has a lengthy history in providing education and training in Gippsland. GippsTAFE has been responsive to the needs of local business in developing programs to support identified needs. The capacity of GippsTAFE to provide training and education in the tourism field was recognised by the marketplace in 2010 with a remarkable 170 percent rise in enrolments compared to the previous year. One example of this industry collaboration has been working with Destination Gippsland Ltd to develop training programs which have now been adopted by other bodies on a state-wide level.
