The Victoria Tourism Industry Council
The Victoria Tourism Industry Council (VTIC) is contracted to operate the Victorian Tourism Awards for the 3-year period 2015 -2017. VTIC is the peak body for Victoria’s tourism and events industry and supports the development of a professional, sustainable and commercially prosperous tourism industry through providing high quality business services and advocacy.
VTIC’s 900 member organisations and individuals include attractions, tour operators, local government, local and regional tourism organisations, accommodation providers, adventure and nature-based businesses, event organisers and visitor information centres. This broad range of members provides VTIC with a State-wide perspective on all issues affecting the broad visitor industry, as well as a precise understanding of specific local, and sectoral matters and concerns.
The Awards program stimulates significant engagement among industry through workshops, judging and mentoring and the support provided by the program’s partners.
VTIC enjoys a close working relationship with a range of other industry organisations, including the Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Destination Melbourne, KPMG, Prime7, Australian Tourism Export Council (ATEC), Australian Tourism Industry Council (ATIC), Tourism and Transport Forum (TTF) and Visit Victoria.
VTIC also enjoys strong working relationships with a range of government agencies including City of Melbourne, Department of Economic Development, Jobs, Transport and Resources, Public Transport Victoria, Parks Victoria and Tourism Australia.
