Back to Booktown sees the old gold town of Clunes in central Victoria transform into a European-styled book town over the first weekend in May each year. Located just 30 minutes from Daylesford and Ballarat, the event allows booklovers a unique opportunity to fossick through tens of thousands of rare and collectable books. Over the weekend 60 visiting booksellers set up shop in the town’s historic buildings – bringing with them one of the largest collection of second-hand books gathered in one place in Australia. A free writers’ program, live music, food and wine add to the fun of the weekend.
